GE Healthcare Equipment and International Aid announced a partnership to bring medical equipment to developing countries.
Under the terms of the partnership, GE said it will donate previously used anesthesia machines and ventilators to International Aid. The two organizations plan to expand their partnership to cover other GE medical equipment, including maternal and infant care equipment, patient monitors and ultrasound systems.
GE will provide training to International Aid engineering staff so they can service the equipment. International Aid will refurbish and distribute the products overseas. The initiative is expected to involve the global distribution of more than 200 devices annually, according to GE.
